The Kitchen..

All we have been doing at the house is stripping cabinets! 4 layers of paint is starting to kick my butt!

But, I know all the hard work will pay off...one day. I think we are going to paint the cabinets an off white, with dark wood floors, and not sure on the other details.

Our kitchen won't look anything like this but looking at it gives me inspiration.

Isn't it gorgeous?!

Seriously loving...

All of these items from Anthropologie!

And you may think I am weird or obsessed with yellow but I am really likin' this wallpaper.

I am really dreaming now but these pieces of furniture are amazing! (unfortunely I can't afford either of them)

They are kind of small...sorry!

Quote of the Day

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”

I think this is very quote is very wise...and true.

Before and After

So I have a little something to show you...our shed, which is no more.

Before...this is the rickety old shed that was barely standing beside our house...

After...A HUGE thanks goes out to a few guys that work for my Gramps. They came out, fought the nats, bees, and mosquitos and took apart and hauled off our shed!

Stay tuned. More before, after, and during coming soon.

Where have I been?

Oh my goodness. I can't believe it has been two weeks since I blogged! I'm so sorry to all of my 8 followers :)

Just a quick update, after the wind storm a couple of weeks ago we had a large tree in our backyard fall to the ground. The tree should have gone right through the center of the house but luckily, while falling it got caught on the limbs of another tree and fell to the side of the house.

I called Jacob and his chainsaws to the rescue. He came and cut up the tree while me, Jessica, Ryan, and Taylor all carried the limbs and stumps off. It really worked out for the best because the tree was half dead and I have been saying that we needed to chop it down because of the risk it could fall on the house. Good thing God was watching out for us!

We are going over to the house tonight to lay the sub-floor in the guest room, frame the closet back in, and to talk with Gramps. He wants to have his guys help us with the house !!!(Possibly scrapping the outside to get ready to paint) Yeah!! I will be letting you know how that goes.

Well that's the basics.

And now...here is what I have reallllly been thinking about.

The perfect patio.

Which of course has the deck.

The table.

And of course I can dream. A pool.

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday! I promise it won't be 2 weeks before I post again.

successful weekend

Although the floors are not completely leveled, we did make headway! The back bedroom is leveled!!! Ryan's friend and co-worker, Michael, came over Saturday and between the two of them they came up with a "plan". Plans are good because that means you are going somewhere. Not that we didn't have a plan before..but, things were still...unclear. Now, however, the boys know what they have to do to get the job done. It's going to take a few trips to the house to get this leveling job done but, I am ok with that. For now :)

While the boys did their thing, I pushed mowed the entire yard. Great workout! Geeeeez ...the first hour I was really wondering what the heck I was thinking. I then trimmed my shrubs and did other various acts of yard work. Thank you Tonya for your help and guidance :)

I am now off to bed. It's been a long and successful Monday.

Well..it's Friday.

This is has been the longest week!!! I am so very extremely happy that it's Friday. Tonight we are going to get material to work on the house tomorrow, going to Charlee and Sydney's dance recital, and possibly going to watch Iron Man 2.

Tomorrow our big goal is to get the floors torn out and leveled. I feel like that is all I have been saying..."if we can just get the floors level", "if we can just get the floors level", "if we can just get the floors level". By golly I HOPE we get the floors level this weekend! We are going to have a little help so maybe that will make a difference :)

No matter what happens this weekend, I am going to stay positive :) Sooner or LATER I am going to be in this dang house :)

Oh and I forgot to mention that a cricket kept me and Ryan awake last night. This cricket was a very stubborn cricket..no matter how hard we beat on the wall it would not shut up! So to my little cricket friend...I am buying something that will kill you today so you better run away before you DIE!!!

Among the many things on my mind, here's a couple.
Love.

Coffee.

Anything beautiful.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
