lake texoma.

we loaded up our new/old popup and headed to the lake with Annie and our nephew Patrick last weekend and it was amazing. the weather was perfect. we found the perfect campsite, not to close to the water but could still feel it and smell the lake water. there was a nice breeze that ran through the site with cool breeze from the water. the site was really shaded and had tons of rocks (of all sizes) that the kids loved. give those kids some rocks and they will be happy for hours..or days.

we went to juniper point east camping area, near whitesboro. about two hours from home but we were all still ready to be there at get set up!

this was Friday...I hope you enjoyed. Saturday to come soon.

july 2013.

since I left this space so silent for so long i'll do a little catch up in pictures. july started with annie getting a trampoline (awesome craigslist find). she loves it. we did work in the backyard (shoveled around 7 tons of gravel into the backyard...ryan and i on a very hot Saturday morning). we've been attacked by grasshoppers. they are getting better but are still everywhere! annie is not a fan. we also had a few rain showers and cooler temps which make us all happy. not pictured is my birthday! i turned 28 and got to celebrate at my cousins wedding. it was wonderful and i feel so blessed to have made it to 28 and have such wonderful family and friends.

now we look forward to august. camping trips (we bought a pop up and i can't wait to share more), more birthdays (ryan turns 30!!), wedding, and much more!

sit and be still.

Well I get on this blog often to read other blogs and have not felt like posting anything here. I know I am not the only one who often feels like the world is going way faster than I can go. I like to stay busy but I've been thinking a lot about how still I want to be. I just want to sit in the quiet and think about how blessed I am to have a wonderful hardworking husband who has given his life to this house of ours, my 21 month hold baby whom I don't want to be 2 quite yet, the little one in my belly that keeps growing everyday, and all my family who loves and supports this family of mine.

I think often about the fears I have of being a parent and raising kids in this society we live in. The things on t.v., the Internet, and the "things" our society deems important. I pray that God gives me the strength to be the rock I need to be and the example I should be. A child's innocence is something I cherish. Children are such miracles and I am so blessed to be Annie's and little baby H's mommy.

I have not posted in over a month so there is probably no way I can play catch up...so I will soon fill you on all that has happened. I really just wanted to say hello! I'm not lost just trying to figure out how to be the best version of myself for me and my family.

Let's play catch up.

  1. Things have been crazy.
  2. I haven't really taken any pictures of the house.
  3. Except the finishing on the floors- the 1st, 2nd, 3rd bedrooms and hallway are painted and done.
  4. The bathroom in hallway is about done. Ryan refinished our claw foot tub and it looks awesome. He reworked and made our vanity with sink. We lack a mirror above the sink and a light fixture above said mirror because I haven't found one I like. Also we have a toilet in our house now!! And it flushes!!! Go Ryan and Bobs. Thank you. (It was getting kind of crazy jumping in the car and driving 6 miles to our old house for a certain urge...)
  5. The focus is now on the living room/kitchen. The kitchen cabinets have been primed and first coats of oil based on. Let me start by saying my husband is awesome. He is pretty much tackling the kitchen on his own because oil based paint is something you need a little talent to deal with...and I don't have said talent. He has our counter tops glued together (black walnut = going.to.be.awesome.) and our back splash is in (green penny tiles). Oh, I almost forgot about the floors. Ryan got the first round of plywood and old laminate up and a friend of ours worked on the original laminate that had been laid..(original means 1948 = not coming up easy). We are determined to use our original hardwood floors like we are going to have in the rest of the house. I sure home the sander can get all the glue up!
  6. The built-ins and island/bar for the kitchen are in the cabinet shop getting made as we speak. So excited to see how they turned out.
  7. That's about it for now..we have the front porch, the breeze-way, small bathroom and basement to finish. One step at a time!!

I have to say that Ryan is the best carpenter I know. Not being biased. He has made our house look so wonderful and us. I love it and I am so excited for the rest that we have to do. I love you Ryan and all the hard work you are putting forth for Annie and I. You rock my world.
